It’s been a while since I have updated my soapbox…half finished articles all over my desktop. Blame it on last mile deal closing that has seen me spend less and less time connected and more time fiddling with my projector pointer at investor meet-ups. Am not complaining though…these are the best of times.
But something caught my attention on Twitter and now Facebook that I believe could be the first case of a socially engineered aka consumer driven ad campaign that could actual take a positive spin. All you have to do is go to twitter.com and search for #avitzisnotacar to get the interesting buzz that is surrounding the Vitz.
What I was seeking to find is the origin of the said local “trending topic”, haven’t quite found it but what is clear is that the local Toyota franchise have not added their voice to the consumer driven campaign. Perhaps they don’t recognize imported models that you wont get as brand new off their showrooms…but heck, how about converting of those Vitz addicts and now growing “anti vitz” proponets to loyal customers by offering an upsell, trade in or test drive?
That said i will try to engineer a sort of social experiment to see what can happen…here’s to #avitzisnotacar…and will the real toyota dealership (or some roadside car reseller) please stand up!
