Nokia Ideastorm – because research and market knowledge is the Achilles heel for many mobile developers

We all know that talent is not everything in a cut throat capitalistic market. Market knowledge is the key to converting talent to scrilla, kaching ching, moola, rent, gas money you name it. So for the mobile developer seeking to scratch the consumer itch and have that translate to revenue, I introduce the Nokia Idea Storm challenge. Developers have everything to gain from this initiative as Nokia are asking consumers in Kenya and Uganda what they want …and giving developers free access to this information, enabling them to customize their apps to local needs.

The app ideas will be in different categories –

  • Entertainment, Fun and Games
  • Business Productivity
  • Easy Living

While it’s majorly a consumer idea drive, as a developer I would keep a keen eye out to see developing trends and market thoughts. I would also sambaza it round to my networks if only to get a pulse of what apps or solutions they are looking for.

It’s not about technology, but what you do with it – The Nokia IdeaStorm site
