Innovation lies at the edge of thought and much of the time that edge is to be found in the minds of developers, whether as teams or individuals and in brainstorming sessions across varied industry verticals.
As a professional in the mobile space, the one question I get asked is “ Is it possible on mobile”. And my response usually is, you are only limited by your imagination.
There is a lot of talent and innovation happening in pockets of the country…Nairobi being the biggest pocket having been billed by the NewYork times as “the emerging silicon valley” as well as seeing the emergence of tech hubs ala the iHub.
What we aim to achieve as Mobile Monday Kenya is to create a conducive platform that will see local operators, developers, brands and development organization flourish and push the boundaries on the mobile channel. A lot of education needs to be one on how best to use this channel and exploit its value…this is our first mandate. To empower champions in the various industries with information that will see the adoption of mobile solutions…more so local solutions and drive innovation across all sectors.
The ICT board has been gracious enough to provide us with room for our monthly meetups. We can be only as strong as our members and I would like to encourage everyone to join us. From government, private sector, ngos, to individuals. Life is mobile and regardless of your occupation you must interact with this channel at least once a day. And that’s why we are here…to add value to that interaction.
